Only doing is slavery. Being is soul. Good doing develops out of Being.
If at first Being feels boring it’s the mind’s smartphone-quick-fix-imagery-social-media-news-adhd-conditioning. Transcend it to be free.
A few exercises that get you there:
1. Spend time looking at, talking to or playing with a baby or young child.
2. Spend time looking at, talking to or playing with a cat or dog.
3. Walk out in nature for some time, without talking.
4. Gaze at an object for some time.
5. Aimlessly browse through a library or gallery.
6. Closely examine sand, ants, flowers, bees, trees, etc.
7. Take longer time to smell or taste something.
8. Listen to music. And only that (not as a side to something else).
9. Make or build something with care and patience.
10. Sit and observe people walking by.
Yes, these are “doings” but they don’t follow a script to “get things done”, which is why the slave-self has an aversion to them. No, there’s nothing wrong with getting things done and getting them done quickly, but you’ve never lacked errands, you’ve lacked inner peace.
Coming from inner peace, you’ll find that less doing is required to get things done as well as notice the many things that get done without your involvement.
