“Positive Thinking” mostly involves trying to override negative thoughts with positive ones. This works sometimes, somewhat, but it’s at the expense of energy because you’re using one thought to suppress another.
A better way would be to catch and release the negative thought and then develop the new positive thought into that void.
Or to simply choose aligned thoughts. Those are positive thoughts that you already believe. No contradictions, doubts or suppression created.
The first example, in the poster below is someone thinking “I’m so exhausted”. The positive-thinker would go ahead and voice “I feel awesome! All is well! Life is great!”. This creates an inner split, a hypocrisy, a lie.
The aligned thought is “I’m tired right now but hope to feel rested after a nap”.
Or “I’d like some rest, I’ll feel awesome after”
Or “I’m going to rest and have lunch, after that I’ll feel better”.
Use this poster to understand aligned thinking.
