Conscious Grieving

I was asked this question on social media:

I responded as follows:

A brush with death is one of the quickest ways to activate more LOVE and climb in levels of consciousness – for your and your mother’s benefit. A rare opportunity.

Awareness of death makes us humble, soft, thoughtful.

Awareness of death eliminates all pretense, posturing, separating, judging, etc.

Awareness of death makes us think about purpose, meaning, afterlife, spirituality, home, Source.

Paradoxically, awareness of death makes us more alive, more human and reminds us to use the little time we have here wisely.

When you visit your mom, it’s enough to love her as she is, be present with her and reassure here that all is well and maybe even that there is a place for her on the other side. Enjoy her company.

Grieving is normal, give yourself space and time to feel sad. Also: Maybe going to the other side is not quite as bad a thing as we assume. Maybe it’s a a good and necessary thing. Earth was only supposed to be a temporary school. She’s graduating!

Send her wishes of peace and prosperity so that she leaves this place filled with love.

This whole thing about the other side is no fiction or thing we’re told to pacify us. It’s as real, even more real than this side. I’ve been there. So have you, whether you remember or not.

To you it may seem like a very long time before you see her again. Suppose you pass away in 50 years. 50 years may seem like a long time. But in the grand scheme of things, or from a higher perspective, it’s like a couple of hours. It’s like your mom is going home, and you’ll be home a couple of hours later.

I wish people had more awareness of how transient life is, not only when someone is dying. If they did, it would improve the way they live and how they treat others.
