An excellent multi-purpose exercise is to sit without moving for some time.
I just came out of the sauna where I remained motionless for 20 minutes. Even when sweat was itching on my forehead I didn’t scratch. The only body movement came from breathing.
Only in this stillness did I notice the constant movement of the other people. One was fidgeting with his fingers. The other kept changing leg position. The third was frantically typing away at his phone. Etc.
I don’t recall the last time I saw a motionless human being.
Being motionless creates a state of poise or self-control. Self-control is the basis of real power (not the fake worldly power connected to “fame and fortune”) because it implies you’re in charge of your physical reality, actions and attention.
How long can you stay motionless?
(If you do it for too long, you’ll have an out-of-body experience)
