Your trees are listening to you

I wanted to have two trees at the back of our house cut down. I was told they were a “hazard”.

“Next storm these trees will crash into your roof” an expert told me.

Well, we had hired a company to cut down these huge, beautiful, ancient trees. One day before they arrived, I got a bad feeling about the whole thing. I went out to the trees, touched them. I said “I’m not going to have you killed. You provide shade. You provide oxygen. You provide life to birds and squirrels. I’m grateful you’re here”.

I cancelled the tree-cutters. A week ago, the “storm of the century” arrived. I live in some elevation and we had tree-bending wind-surges. Some trees did crush houses!

But not mine, because I had a chat with them.
