You can tell a Democrat from a Republican by Face-Reading

I just completed this experiment. I went to this page with a list of congress members and their photos.

https://congress.gov/members?q=%7B%22congress%22%3A%5B%22118%22%5D%7D

I enlarged the screen, then taped paper over the right side so I can’t read party affiliation.

My task was to tell whether someone is a Democrat or Republican just from looking at the face.

I went through the whole first page, 100 politicians and skipped the politicians whose affiliation I knew.

My success rate was an unexpected, fantastic 95%!

I can tell someones political affiliation just from the face!

What does this mean?

It means that these people (Dems/Reps) have become too tightly defined, conditioned, formed, crystallized, brainwashed, pigeonholed, polarized or whatever you wish to call it. Rigid inner ideology, manifest in outer appearance.

In an ideal world it shouldn’t be that easy. I’m sure if I did the same experiment 40 years ago, it wouldn’t be that easy. It’s rare (and fun) to meet people who can’t predict one way or the other.

I invite you to try the test yourself. Let me know in the comments whether you experienced similar.
