Suffering is not “God’s Will”

Imagine there is an electricity company that is supplying your House with an abundance of electricity. But you’re not turning on the light. And you say “It must be the electricity companies’ will that I don’t have light“. It is the job of the provider to supply the electricity and it already has. But it is your responsibility to turn on the light.

Many believe that suffering, sickness and misfortune are “God’s will” or perhaps “The Universe” correcting you. If someone gets sick and dies it must have been “God’s will”. If one did not succeed in healing an illness, they blame it on “God’s will” or “The Universe teaching a lesson”. They say “The ways of the Lord are mysterious”. Perhaps the sickness was “God’s punishment”. Perhaps you aren’t having the career and money you always wanted because “God wants you to stay humble” or because “you have sinned”.

All of these thoughts have in common the idea that God has negative, punitive intent. This view of God is like that of an irate parent that disciplines the children with carrot and stick. Thus love needs to first be “deserved”.

The problem? It’s not true. Neither the Supreme Being, nor any Beings of higher realms, desire your sickness, poverty, suffering, misfortune or trouble. Higher realms are pure beauty, pure joy, pure abundance, pure success – in all areas, every day.

One of the things that inspired me to begin Reality Creation Coaching in the 1990s, is to help people take responsibility instead of waiting for and then blaming things on a higher power.

This doesn’t mean that Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism are false teachings. The funny thing is, that these religions don’t even teach that suffering is “God’s will”. That’s human interpretation! Just one example (of thousands), from the Bible, Mathew 17:14-19

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Did you catch that? Jesus said that they were unable to heal this man because of their own unbelief. Not because it was “God’s will”. Not because of “the devil”. The cause of the sickness was bad energy. And the reason it couldn’t be healed, was their unbelief. Simple.

In this scene, Jesus actually gets upset because they can’t heal him. He says “Oh faithless and perverse generation…how long shall I bear with you?”

That’s a very different attitude than most “religious” people have today. If someone doesn’t get healed, often they’ll say “Oh well, it was God’s will”. A person saying that, has very little expectation that a person will get healed. Jesus was upset, because he had spent a lot of time teaching them how to heal and they had succeeded in healing all kinds of sicknesses many times before. But in this scene, because they had never seen epilepsy, it scared them. So their healing powers disappeared. Instead of saying “It’s God’s will that he died”, Jesus got upset with them and then went ahead and healed the guy. It is written that Jesus healed every person that was brought to him. He healed them all. Not once did he say that it’s “God’s will” that someone should be sick or die.

The Universe is made on pure positive energy. You were created to be happy and abundant. Sometimes you aren’t, because you live in a 50% negative realm. The earth is somewhat low-consciousness, low-energy. So if you allow external reality (the world) to dominate you, then your reality will sometimes be negative, sometimes positive. But if you choose your own reality from within, you can live a mostly positive life, in spite of all the limitations and challenges in this world.

You can beg God for a manifestation or angrily blame God for not manifesting something. But neither is effective. It is like blaming the electricity company. The energy is already provided. All the abundance you will ever need, is already provided. It’s up to you to access it, to turn on the light switch. And you do so by aligning your frequency with the frequency or energy of that which you want.

If you wish to resonate with something and create change, you must tune your emotional and mental state to match the desired thing, as I teach in many of my books. You must have a thing before you have it 😉 Thus, prayers of gratitude work better than begging-prayers.

Consider this verse from Mark 16:17-18:

“These signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink a deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”

Wow. This really means that many religious people aren’t believers. They follow a copy of religion, without grasping the essence of it and claiming their awesome spiritual power. How many religious folk, of any of the religons, do you personally know that can drink poison without getting sick or lay hands on people for instant healing?

Yes, there are religious people who genuinely live this way. And there are some Churches and Temples that emphasize healing. But the majority of “Religion” today has little to do with healing. Many, if you tell them you are sick, will send you to a doctor. If you have debt, they’ll send you to a financial advisor. If you feel unwell, they’ll send you to a therapist. Sermons are often limited to singing pious songs and reading verses. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not the main point of a spiritual path. It’s like the side-show has taken main-stage and the main show relegated to backstage.

Then there are those who say “I am not religious, I am spiritual”. But even among these people, how many go out and perform miracles? Very few expect that. It’s much more comfortable to retreat into some “spiritual identity” and pretend to be some kind of indigo starseed ascended master or whatever, instead of actually performing miracles. Once you allow yourself to perform miracles, all the searching, defining and self-identifying ends and you begin truly enjoying life.

“What? Me? Perform Miracles?”

Sure. Who else if not you? At the very least, I expect you to manifest more and better than you have been. I hold you to higher standards. You can do better (no matter who you are). You can handle more. You don’t need to give up at the first sign of adversity or trouble. Belief also means to keep focusing on a preferred outcome, in spite of adversity.

Suffering is not “God’s will”. The Most High wants you totally abundant and happy. Suffering comes from misusing free will. We can choose negativity, we can choose suffering. Nonetheless, it’s good to have free will.

I believe that you have not only the responsibility but also the power to heal yourself and others and to succeed abundantly in everything. That’s why I became a Reality Creation Coach. If you do not succeed at something, I do not tell you “it’s God’s will”. I tell you, you need to regain control over your thoughts, your attention, your emotions and actions. Learn to work the light-switches, because all the energy is already provided.
