Do you try to nurse your loved ones?
Do you feel unwell or responsible when someone else is in a bad mood?
Do you try hard to make others feel better?
Are you always available for others?
Do you do what others want even if it’s not good for you?
Do people take you for granted?
Do you give a lot while getting little in return?
Are you shy to take, request and demand?
Do you pretend to agree with others even if you don’t?
Do you hide your real views from others?
Does criticism hurt you?
Do you find excuses for others abusive behavior?
Do you have a hard time saying no?
If you answered with “yes” to more than three items, you have
what I call the caretaker/appeaser identity. It originates in childhood
when, for the sake of survival, you tried to appease your parents
to avoid punishment. In adult life, this behavior indicates lack
of boundaries, prevents authenticity, prevents getting respect
and also prevents making a lot of money, having time, learning
about yourself and a host of other things.
I’ve created an extremely helpful 22 minute guided Meditation to release this issue and uploaded it to the “Member Videos” section of my website (where you find hundreds of other powerful audios and videos).
