Mystical meaning and development of the Halo

A halo is a

surrounding a person’s head. In old religious art, it indicates a person’s holiness or godliness. In my view, a higher level of consciousness energizes the area around the head, creating an auric radiance seen with one’s spiritual eyes and, in rare instances with one’s physical eyes.

As a young boy I watched my father pray healing over the sick and afflicted. I sometimes saw a white shimmer above his head while observing from outside of the room. I recall sometimes having to stand at a certain angle or from a distance to see it.

The crowns worn by Kings and Queens were meant to amplify the halo. This is my personal opinion, derived from spiritual sight, you won’t find this on Google. If one’s energy is absent or not not big and bright enough, external objects, fashions and tools are used to compensate for the lack. The overuse of glitter, flashiness, fanfare, glamour and hype are to cover up an inner emptiness. Crowns were sometimes used to cover up lack of actual authority. Genuine authority derives from higher spiritual consciousness and many “leaders” and “celebrities” today don’t have it. Sometimes however, the energy was present and the crown was used to amplify it.

Depictions of halo’s are found among the ancients across the world – Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, the Greek, Romans, Persians, Egyptians, the Norse and many more. It was a universally known and understood reality up until about 150 years ago when modernism did away with it.

Some ancient Christian paintings of the Halo around Jesus, Mary and Peter:

Krishna and Rukmini with Halo:

Mohammed with full-body light and and disciples with Halo:

Even if we only count the types of Halos shown in Christianity we can come up with more than a dozen:

A related word is “Nimbus”. According to the Dictionary a nimbus is…

“A Luminous Vapor/Aura: In mythology, a nimbus is a bright cloud or aura surrounding a deity. It can also refer to a luminous disc around the head of a saint or divine figure in religious art”.

Another related word is Aureole, Areola or Corona which is defined as…

“…a circle of light or brightness surrounding something, especially as depicted in art around the head or body of a person represented as holy”.

And yet another word for it is glory or gloriole, which is defined as…

“a luminous ring or halo, especially as depicted around the head of Jesus Christ or a saint”. “An indication of radiant light drawn around the head of a saint. synonyms: aura, aureole, glory, halo, nimbus. light, lightness. the visual effect of illumination on objects or scenes as created in pictures”.
In religious terminology “glory” also means honor, magnificence, great beauty, praise to God and worship of God.
Finally, there is the word “Mandorla” which is defined as…
an almond-shaped enclosure, often depicted around sacred figures.
The mystic Hildegard of Bingen painted this image of Jesus Christ based on Visions she received:

The Mandorla of Mary “our Lady of Guadalupe”:

Many seers have described the human form or soul as an egg-shaped or almod-shaped light.

The strange and ignorant scientific term for aura or light around the body is “Spectre”. It is visible in certain atmospheric conditions involving fog.

Without fog it is sometimes seen in one’s shadow reflection:

What do you notice in this shadow of a hot air balloon and its inhabitant?

Every human being radiates this circle of light. I’ve written an entire book “The Electromagnetic Self” to make that point.

But in some people the energy is so strong it becomes visible to others. If you are in the presence of a spiritual person, try this: Look at the person out of the furthest corner of your eye and maybe you can see their Aura. In a completely darkened room your eyes are likely to make it out as well. But the majority of people seen as “spiritual” are not. They have what I call a “spiritual identity”, not a spiritual reality. A spiritual identity is someone who appears to say and do all the right things but has no radiant Halo. The radiant Halo comes through being good, not just acting or talking good.

I once spoke at a conference and made an off-color joke. In the break a person approached me and said that it was offensive and showed that I am not an enlightened person. I said to her that I never claimed to be enlightened. This is the type of person seeking the appearance of virtue rather than spiritual growth. There are more fake spiritual teachers than sand on the beach and it’s because most people seek appearance over authenticity. I was providing a few simple exercises to increase energy instead of standing on stage aggrandizing myself. But this person would have preferred show over substance, looking all clean, pure and holy over authentic kindness. If you had a shining Halo, you wouldn’t need quite as much virtue-signalling, fashion-signalling, name-dropping, attention-grabbing, novelty-hounding, politically-correct-acting, holier-than-thou-looking activity. Your mere presence would be enough to touch people’s hearts.

In old Freemasonic lore, the Halo is called “Royal Arch” (though most Freemasons don’t know this). The ring around the head is the microcosmic “Royal Arch” and the Firmament above Earth is the macrocosmic one.

The stone at the apex of the Arch is called “keystone”. It’s the final piece of construction that locks other stones into position. In architecture, the parts surrounding the keystone are called “the crown”. The keystone corresponds to the “crown chakra”, the highest energy-center of the body.

The most common colors to show Halo’s are gold, yellow or white. This corresponds with the colors of the spiritual realm.

Buddhist spiritual masters wear yellow caps and outfits. Monks wear orange ones, to show their spiritual rank. But the Halo of the Buddha is often shown as Green, the lowest rank, to indicate the holy act of an enlightened being coming all the way down here to help us. The Buddha became human to help us realize that we can achieve a higher consciousness while embodied.

Christianity was meant to be an even more intense version of this, in which Jesus came to Earth to show that an incarnate human can embody God.

Much of modern Christianity is watered-down. Real Christianity means to BE Christ-like as much as possible. Because the Apostles became Christ-like, performing healings and miracles just like Jesus, their heads started shining as they became “filled with the Holy Spirit” (see image at the top of this article).

In my professional opinion, the Halo is developed when all energy centers are active, especially the upper five chakras and most importantly the crown. Chakra colors and their rank, correspond with the primary colors and physical location on Earth. At the bottom we have brown, red and orange soil. Then yellow and green grass. Then blue sky that finally goes into purple space.

The rainbow is an exact reversal of the chakra-levels and earth-levels and that’s no coincidence.
In the Bible it is said that the rainbow symbolizes “the covenant between God and Humanity”. That’s why the color-levels are from top to bottom (reversed), whereas for human chakras and the Earth’s atmosphere, they are from bottom to top.

From this poster you see how to create a stronger Halo. Once survival and physical needs are taken care of, one first develops personal power and affluence. Then compassion. If you get stuck at the power-level, you experience worldly success but without compassion, humility and kindness. Blessed are those who become affluent but remain grounded! Once success and kindness are in place, there is a thirst for truth. 90% of the people have no thirst for truth, no interest in discernment. They are not yet at that level of soul-development. They want money, yes. They may have compassion, yes. But once you ascend, truth for truth’s sake becomes important. And to assist in higher truth, one develops psychic skills and intuition. Finally, once the crown is active, there is a sense of bliss or presence.

Any problem you are experiencing with the corresponding glands points to problems with that energy center. If you suffer from pancreatitis, you are struggling with personal power or under the influence from people who don’t like you.

Strengthening your thymus gland, strengthens your compassion. If you’re in touch with truth you suffer neither from hypothyroidism nor hyperthyroidism. And yes, the Pineal gland, corresponding to the crown and keystone, is a gate to cosmic consciousness.

Any sense of lack or needing something outside of yourself indicates low-energy in one of your energy-centers. Sure, we all need food, we all want to belong, we all benefit from love, etc. I’m talking about a felt sense of lack in the body. Your body knows about it and tells you, through feeling. It’s instant and obvious but most people these days choose to ignore instead of repair.

The drawing below is an ancient scale of Consciousness Levels. It dates from the year 1304 and is titled “Scale of Nature”. The scale was common among the Abrahamic people (today Christians, Muslims, Jews).

The Levels of Consciousness here are:

Elementative (relating to the four Elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air)

Vegetative (Beings capable of eating, growth and reproduction)

Sensitive (Beings capable of sensory perception)

Imaginative (Beings who can internally re-create and project what was perceived)

Humans (Beings who are at the same time part of material and spiritual, lower and upper reality)

Heaven (which includes several celestial spheres and realms and the Beings therein)

Angels (which the ancients defined as the purest spirits)

God (at the top of the staircase, on which the entire Kingdom below is dependent)

The ancients believed that all beings can ascend or descend (the Buddhists still believe this).

The author of the painting also mentions Beings that are one level below the Elementative level, which he calls “Ars”. Ars is Latin for “art” or “artificial beings”. These are beings created by humans. In other words, the concept of androids, robots and AI was already known 800 years ago!

Some readers will ask AI whether the information in this article is true. AI will tell them that Halos are depictions in ancient art. They will easily cite and reference all the places the Halo is mentioned. But what AI cannot do is provide an experience of the Halo or teach you how to develop it. It will likely even tell you that such a thing as a Halo doesn’t exist, that it’s a purely religious or belief-dependent concept.

As in every other topic, AI cannot help you ascend spiritually. It is limited to giving you information that it was programmed to give. Asking it about spiritual matters is asking the lowest level of consciousness about higher consciousness. A person who does so, is far away from developing their truth-chakra (and even further away from developing a radiant Halo). Questions on spiritual matters should be directed at the highest consciousness, not the lowest. They should be directed at the highest source, the Creator-of-all. The answers you get from that are infinitely more profound than answers you get from AI. And they develop your Halo.
