Last month I talked about how to improve your state in 10 Minutes. This simple exercise will improve your state of mind and energy in just one minute.

One-Minute State-Improver

  1. Name 3 things you taste right now
  2. Name 3 things you hear right now
  3. Name 3 things you feel right now
  4. Name 3 things you smell right now
  5. Name 3 things you’d like to taste right now
  6. Name 3 things you’d like to hear right now
  7. Name 3 things you’d like to feel right now
  8. Name 3 things you’d like to smell right now


Why this works:

Most negative states come from resisting what you are experiencing in the here-now. The first part of the exercise puts you in touch with the present moment and what you are actually experiencing. The second part of the exercise helps you experience things you prefer – in the here and now, as your subconscious does not discern between physical experience and imagined experience.

You can use this on yourself or others in any instance of fogginess, grogginess, dullness, headiness as a speedily effective intervention.
