How to create a life that works

A life that is in flow and balance are attracted by putting out goodness. There is a reason sudden fortune keeps befalling some people. There is a reason some are “lucky” or radiate something “special”. These are results of years of goodness put into the world. Cosmic accounting, where all of your thoughts, words and actions are weighed against each other, is real.

Some ways to put out goodness:

Selfless Acts

When you do something for another without thinking of your benefit, without regret, without expecting in return. This is rare! The Ego may think you don’t have the time or resources to do something for others, but if you do it, you transcend the Ego. The act becomes even greater when done anonymously so the good thing can’t be traced back to you.

You could forgive someone, regardless of whether they deserve it. By emptying their cosmic debt, a burden is released from you both. You could smile at a stranger. Be kind to someone who can do nothing for you in return. If you treat someone well and they don’t reciprocate, it was a selfless act. If you get upset that they are not treating you in the same awesome way you are treating them, it wasn’t a selfless act – it means you “gave with an agenda”. Check your motive.

Courageous Acts

When you do something challenging, intentionally placing yourself in a situation that makes you nervous or fearful, for the sake of growth, you build energy and character. Every day generously provides opportunities to show courage.

You can try smaller ones such as asking for a pay raise, sharing a difficult truth, confronting a bully or starting a project you were afraid of. As you gain confidence you go to greater acts of courage. What are you afraid to do but you know it would be good for you and others to do it? Going where others won’t go because they are too timid, will also make you more successful than them.

Acts of Self-Control

An act of self-control, discipline or willpower increases your energy. For example, you could meditate, do physical workout, learn an instrument, do without an addiction or compulsion, fast for a week or clean out the basement.

These are all ways to reign in the mind before it goes wayward. I am currently writing this article in standing instead of sitting. It’s a small thing but it’s my way of adding to my discipline-account for today.

Self-control can also mean to cut out acts motivated by fear, greed, pride, gossip, self-importance, laziness, harming others, lying, cheating, stealing or “look-at-me” attention-hogging, which deplete your energy and cosmic account. Have you ever tried a month of keep track of your actions on whether they’re motivated by the lower of higher self? How much about yourself do you really want to know?

It could mean keeping your word, even when it’s inconvenient. Doing the right thing even when it’s inconvenient and nobody is watching. It doesn’t matter how many other people engage in depleting activities, you are responsible for your own reality, not others.

How to Know if you’re in the Flow

If things are not going well, engage in more selfless acts, acts of courage and acts of self-control. Become more extreme in these, it will restore your flow.

Ask yourself if you’re currently in the flow. You will get

a neutral feeling,
a cold and heavy feeling,
or a warm and glowing feeling.

Neutral, cold or heavy means you are not in the flow today and require more selfless acts, acts of courage and acts of self-control.

Sudden accidents, loss of money, loss of loved ones, etc. are no accident. Sudden strokes of luck, miraculous healing and influx of fortunes is no coincidence. They are cosmic responses to your cosmic account. What goes around comes around. If you are a source of goodness, you become invincible.

Rating People’s Energy-Level

Think of a group you’re a member of. It could be a club, a meetup, a family, an office or other. Where would you rate the energy-level of each person on a scale from 1 to 10? In other words, how much

LIFE FORCE
or VITALITY
or PRESENCE

does each person have? Sure, it’s controversial to openly rate people this way, so keep your insights private.

Most of you will instantly see who has the most energy and who has the least. It’s so obvious if you’re open to it.

Those with the least energy could use some help, some of your acts of selfless love. That’s one of the purposes of being a human on Earth – to uplift others.

Look closely at the high-energy people and you will find that they are engaged in acts of courage, acts of self-control and/or acts of selflessness. The moment they enter the room, everyone FEELS it. It’s expressed in their eyes, facial expression, body language and how they occupy the space.

Become the high-energy person and then use some of your energy (not all of it, just some) to elevate others. You can always quickly improve your life by adding some selflessness, self-control or courage into the mix.
