Do you remember when you first started consciously listening to music, getting excited about certain songs?

You were probably between 9 and 12 years old. It was a high-energy age where even the most mediocre music sounded like heaven-sent.

I started consciously listening to songs around 1985, when I was 11 years old.

A week ago I did an experiment. I put all the songs I listened to in 85 and 86 unto a playlist. I listened to it on the way to sports.

My body remembered the songs! 🎼

Even though the songs aren’t that good by my standards today, I relived the excitement and childlike wonder I had in those days. It had a positive effect on my sports performance. I won the matches with ease because I was in this strange daze of being a ten year old kid rather than a fifty year old dude.

I don’t know how long or how often I can use this trick before it loses its spark. I won’t overuse it for that reason. But my body remembers the excitement I had as a child when I listened to those songs. The endorphins are still released, after all this time.

That’s AWESOME!
